The history of the Osaka Tennoji Zoo begins with its grand opening on January 1 1915 (Taisho 4), reaching it’s 100 year anniversary in 2015 (Heisei 27). 1,000 animals of 180 different varieties are born and raised here across an interior of approximately 11 hectares, used as an inner-city Oasis by locals and travelers alike.

天王寺動物園於1915年（大正4年）1月1日開園、於2015年（平成27年）迎接開園100周年，是個歷史悠久的動物園。現在園內約有11公頃大，大約有180種,1000隻的動物，就好像是都市的綠洲，每天都有絡繹不絕的訪客。
